Major League Soccer has ranked as the seventh best league in world football according to Sporting Intelligence.
The American and Canadian top flight ranks behind the German Bundesliga, English Premier League, Spain's Primera Division (La Liga), Italy's Serie A, Brazil's Campeonato Serie A and Mexico's Liga MX in terms of attendances, finances, goals, competitiveness, calibre of players and managers, stadiums and success in continental competitions.
MLS scored well in competitiveness and 'other areas' believed to be the fact they have built a number of soccer-specific stadiums in recent years.
Nonetheless, it is a great result for MLS who have ranked ahead of seemingly better leagues such as Holland, France and Argentina.
