MLS commissioner Don Garber has again talked up the prospect of signing Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Garber says he would welcome Schweinsteiger with 'open arms' to his league.

He told Kicker: “We would welcome Bastian with open arms. He would be a leader for our many young players.

“Of course, we follow closely what happens with Bastian. He an old friend in the United States.

“Against the US team he played in the 2014 World Cup, and he also played with Bayern Munich in an All Star game in 2014."
