Henrikh Mkhitaryan insists Mesut Ozil is worthy of a place in Arsenal's XI.

Mkhitaryan scored one and teed up Alexandre Lacazette for Arsenal's other goal in Sunday's 2-0 win against Southampton.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil were both on the bench for Sunday's game against Saints and Mkhitaryan says: “The manager decided to give more opportunities to other players but I was very happy when they came on.

“They had a freshness and gave more drive to the team.

“For me, it doesn't matter where I play. I don't care if I am on the right, the left or in the middle.

“The most important thing is just to be in the starting line-up and to help the team win games by doing something good."
