Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan hopes he can put his injury troubles behind him after making his return in an U23 match last night.
The Armenian has not played since December 19 after fracturing a metatarsal in his foot.
Having played 45 minutes against Boreham Wood, with the game called off in the second-half due to bad light, Mkhitaryan is optimistic about returning to the first-team fold.
Mkhitaryan told the club's official website: "I hope that I won't have any more injuries and I will keep playing.
"Unfortunately, we didn't end up finishing the game. The game was called off but it was a great first half. I think we did very well.
"We could improve in some aspects but we scored three goals, were playing very good football and could've scored more.
"I'm thankful to everyone who has been working with me. To the medical staff, to the fitness coach and everyone, even to my team-mates. They were supporting me every day.
"It's life, everything is happening and you can get injured or something like that. I hope that no one gets injured anymore and the team can be fully fit for the next games."
