‘Misson accomplished' for West Ham says Westley

West Ham United's Terry Westley has labelled the Europa League tie against Andorran minnows FC Lusitans as 'mission accomplished' after the Hammers won 4-0 on aggregate.

Elliot Lee scored his debut goal for the club to clinch the return leg 1-0 on Thursday night after the Hammers had won 3-0 at Upton Park last week.

"Mission accomplished, you would say, over the two legs," Academy boss Westley, who oversaw the two-leg tie, told the club's official website.

"We asked a group of players to return to work on 22 June and the cohesion between the senior and younger players was absolutely first-class.

"I've got total respect for the senior players and how they went about it in both games. We kept two clean sheets and the way the two centre-halves dealt with everything they threw at us, they were determined to keep the ball out of the net."

West Ham next take on Maltese side Birkirkara in the next round of Europa League qualifying.
