Former AC Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli is happy seeing his old team now top of the table.

Mirabelli is also happy to take credit for their revival.

He explained, “I am happy with what Milan are doing, especially as if you look carefully, half the squad is there because of the work we did.

“I am therefore doubly happy to see the fruits of our labour. However, I do think the current administration have delayed too long in negotiations for contract extensions."

On coach Stefano Pioli, Mirabelli added: "Stefano Pioli is doing a fantastic job because he hasn't based it on individual talents, but always having an organised and compact team, all with the same spirit."
