Former AC Milan chief Massimiliano Mirabelli admits he regrets not signing Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Milan tried to re-sign Aubameyang when he was leaving Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.

Mirabelli told Calciomercato.com: "We had close contact with the player but we did not succeed in recruiting him.

"He's one of my favorite strikers and it's a shame that we couldn't finish negotiations.

"I regret it."
