Aston Villa midfielder James Milner is ready to surrender spotkick duties to skipper Stiliyan Petrov.

Milner followed his Carling Cup miss against Cardiff by hitting a weak effort, which was saved by Jussi Jaaskelainen, in Saturday's convincing 5-1 win over Bolton.

"Stan is a good penalty taker as well," Milner told the Birmingham Mail. "I'm sure we will work it out between ourselves. Saturday was a poor penalty but there's always next time.

"It was important to bounce back after West Ham and sign off with a good win going into the international break."
