Millwall defender Christian Mbulu is being watched by Chelsea.

The Sun says Mbulu, 19, has been compared to Chris Smalling after being snapped up from non-league Brentwood Town last summer.

He has been a regular at Under-21 level and Lions boss Neil Harris teased his potential when he signed the youngster.

"He is a young guy who has been playing non-league football without any professional coaching or full-time training," Harris said.

"We hope to realise the potential that we have seen on the training pitch and in a couple of pre-season games.

"Christian was recommended to us and we want him to be given every opportunity to progress further."
