Millwall manager Gary Rowett admits they're battling Championship rivals for Manchester City striker Liam Delap.
The 18-year-old, son of former Stoke City cult hero Rory, has bagged 24 goals in 22 Premier League 2 matches.
That has made him “the best young striker around" according to Rowett, who admitted the Championship interest when speaking to the South London Press.
“Rory is a good friend of mine and he worked with me. I know the family really well," he revealed.
“Liam Delap, quite simply, is the best young striker around at the moment and every single Championship club, I'm sure, would be interested in taking him.
“Of course we'd be interested. But, at the same time, I'm sure everyone would be interested in him."
Delap was often included in matchday squads during the 2020-21 season and scored his first senior strike in September of last year.
