Former Real Madrid chief Pedja Mijatovic has jumped to the defence of Marcelo.

Mijatovic is adamant that the Brazilian will recover his best form.

"He's a great player but since he hasn't had any competition, he's probably relaxed," argued the former Madrid forward.

"Right now he's not having the best of times, but he's probably going to become the starter again.

"For now, [Sergio] Reguilon is doing very well; [Marcelo] is recoverable but it depends on him."
