Mignolet amazed by passion of Liverpool fans

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet hailed the passion of Reds fans after their win over Southampton.

Mignolet, who significantly contributed himself via a reflex save to deny Jay Rodriguez shortly before half-time with the score at 1-0, thanked Kopites and requested more of the same in the final 10 games.

"It's not only today - they have been behind us since the first game of the season," the Belgian stopper told Liverpoolfc.com post-match.

"If you play away and you get that support behind you, it only makes it easier for us to win games. Hopefully they can keep it up. Home or away, the atmosphere inside the stadium is always very good and can only help us achieve great things.

"As a goalkeeper, sometimes you have to be there to help the team out when needed. Luckily today, with that save I managed to get a hand to it and didn't concede. I'm very pleased with that.

"I think we defended really well and credit to the team for the work-rate they put into it. After that, we didn't give much away and on the counter-attack we scored three goals. We're all very pleased."
