Midtjyllands chief Graversen proud of Onyeka move to Brentford

FC Midtjyllands sports chief Svend Graversen has explained selling Frank Onyeka to Brentford.

The midfielder's move to the Bees was confirmed this morning.

Graversen said, "Frank is the example of another fantastic story about the collaboration between our academy in Nigeria, the academy in Ikast and the Superliga team. He has taken the whole journey, where he started as a striker and was quickly retrained as a midfielder.

"It has been inspiring to see how he fought his way into the first team and has since made an extraordinary impression on the Super League the last few years. We are incredibly proud of that."

Graversen is sure that he can develop even more with Brentford.

"It is a happy story for the whole of FC Midtjylland to be able to send a really good football player and not least a really nice young man on to new challenges. There are many in the club who have had something to do with Frank and had an impact on his development. It ranges from coaches, managers and teammates to his foster family, and he has been well-liked by all.

"We are of course sad to lose Frank, but on the other hand we also encourage him to come out and unleash the huge potential he has. We look forward to following him in the Premier League, and we are confident that he can develop even more and become a profile in Brentford and on the Nigerian national team."
