Middlesbrough youngster Nathan Wood is a £9m target for Burnley.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche failed in a bid for the 17-year-old during the summer window but is set to return for him in January, says The Sun.
Wood, 17, became Boro's youngest ever player last season when he featured in an EFL Cup game.
He has also played for England Under-18s and has been tracked by Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal.
But Burnley are at the front of the queue for the teenager, who is son of ex-Boro full-back Dean Gordon - and Dyche is expected to make a renewed bid when the window opens.
Wood is yet to play a game in the Championship this term, however he did feature against Crewe in the League Cup defeat.
