Middlesbrough are determined to keep hold of wing-back Hayden Coulson this summer.
The 21 year-old is being linked with Newcastle United.
But Gazette Live says Middlesbrough will reject out of hand any Newcastle summer raid on the Riverside for Coulson.
Reports at the weekend suggest Magpies' boss Steve Bruce has targeted Boro's left sided hot prospect.
The Sun claim Newcastle scouts have been taking notes as Gateshead-born Coulson has caught the eye this term.
And they say Bruce is weighing up a £10m move with an eye to playing Coulson in their problem left back slot, currently occupied by on-loan Spurs man Danny Rose.
But the Gazette understands Boro chiefs will not entertain any approach for the impressive youngster.
The Hurworth hierarchy see Coulson as being part of the future framework of the club and will knock back bids.
