Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is delighted to have Tuncay Sanli fit-again.

Southgate said: "He is a very decent human being, really personable character he enjoys his life, loves football wants to play all the time, is enjoyable to work with, has a lovely manner with everybody he meets, always has a smile on his face and I find usually the best players are like that. They don't seem to have any side to them.

"He was extremely popular with the fans at Fenerbahce, some players are afraid or embarrassed to have that rapport but he revels in it which is great for us. It will come here more and more.

"He has a great passion for this football and this club, he has an incredible engine and running that endears him to fans and a terrific quality which means he can create something out of the ordinary and can get goals from a deeper position on the field.

"The turn he did on Jamie Carragher at Anfield earlier in the season shows what he is capable of and he is someone that the fans enjoy watching and he had made an excellent start to the season and then got injured with Turkey.

"He is top quality and it is great to have him back. He is not far off being world class because he was outstanding in the European Championships in the summer and if you can shine like that in a competition like that you are up there with the best."
