Sacked Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui could be handed an immediate return to management.

Axed three weeks ago by Real, Lopetegui was immediately contacted by interested Mexican clubs about moving to LigaMX.

And Goal says Lopetegui is now in contact with the Mexican Federation about taking charge of the national team.

Having led Spain to last summer's World Cup, before his commitment to Real saw him sacked, Lopetegui's achievement is attractive to the Mexican FA.

However, he is not their lone candidate for the job, with free agent Quique Sanchez Flores and Atlanta United coach Tata Martina also being considered.
