Melbourne Victory sign former Luzern midfielder Bozanic

A-League champions Melbourne Victory have announced the signing of Oliver Bozanic.

The 26-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year deal with the Victory as their newest marquee player after spending the past two years in Switzerland with FC Luzern.

The former Central Coast Mariners star arrives in Melbourne having made 51 Swiss Super League appearances with Luzern, following his 71 A-League appearances for the Mariners.

Victory head coach Kevin Muscat was delighted to welcome the seven-time Australia international who has one A-League premiership and one championship to his name.

"Oliver brings a wealth of experience and quality to the club, having played in England, Switzerland and in the A-League, as well representing Australia at the most recent World Cup in Brazil, so we are looking forward to what he can add to our playing group," Muscat said.

Botanic added: "Melbourne Victory is a club that is immensely respected on and off the pitch so when the opportunity came to join the club, I accepted it without hesitation," Bozanic said.

"I'd like to thank Kevin and Melbourne Victory Football Club for the opportunity and I look forward to repaying their faith in me in front of the incredible Victory fans."
