Melbourne Victory sign Dandenong Thunder's Kellaway

Melbourne Victory have added Englishman Geoff Kellaway as a injury replacement player on a short-term deal.

The 24-year old has joined the Victory from Victorian Premier League club Dandenong Thunder on a three-month deal while defender Matthew Kemp continues to recover from a knee injury.

Kellaway, a left-sided midfielder, was named in the Welsh Premier League team of the season last term whilst playing for Aberystwyth Town but decided to try his luck in Australia and so far it had all worked out.

"A mate of mine mentioned to me in the pub one night that he was heading to Australia for a bit of a footballing holiday, so I decided to join him and it's worked out far better than I could ever have imagined," Kellaway said.

"Melbourne Victory is the biggest club in the A-League, so just to be given the chance to train in such a professional environment has been an amazing experience and hopefully I can repay the faith they've shown in me with some good performances.

"I knew if I played well against Victory in that mid-week friendly I'd be a chance to at least get a trial and thankfully it's all come together."
