Incoming A-League club Melbourne Heart are expecting to hold talks with former Australian skipper Mark Viduka. The 34-year old has been without a club since his contract expired at Newcastle United at the end of last season in the UK and since he outlined his plans that he was to retire from European football, has been linked with the Heart.
The former Celtic, Leeds United and Middlesbrough star is set to return to Melbourne in the coming weeks and Heart chief executive Scott Nunn said the club would definitely seek him out.
"We haven't spoken to him yet because he hasn't arrived back in Australia," Munn said yesterday.
"We've spoken to his management, but Mark is coming out at the end of the month and we'd like to meet him and talk.
"We'll have a chat with him about playing," Munn added.
"But it will also be about a whole range of things. It's not just about playing football.
"He's been involved in football for a long time and has plenty to offer beyond just playing. We'd love to have a chat and just see what happens."
