Word around the football community in Melbourne suggests that incoming A-League club Melbourne Heart are making a play for former Socceroo midfielder Josip Skoko.

The Heart are believed to be in ongoing talks with the 34-year old who is currently in Croatia playing with Hajduk Split and news has also come through that they are attempting to lure Mark Viduka out of retirement for the A-League next season.

The former Celtic, Leeds United and Middlesbrough striker has not played since he was at Newcastle United at the end of the 2008/09 English Premier League and although he has already been linked with the Heart, they are now upping the ante to try and get him back in the game.
