Melbourne City have confirmed that they will meet sister club Manchester City in a pre-season friendly.
The A-League outfit will take on the Premier League giants at CBus Super Stadium in the Gold Coast on Saturday, July 18.
City CEO Scott Munn made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon and was thrilled to welcome City to Australia as part of their relationship with City Football Group who hold majority ownership of both clubs.
"We couldn't be more pleased to be welcoming our sister club Manchester City FC to Australia and indeed to be playing against them in a historic game at CBus Super Stadium," Munn said.
"As an A-League Club well acquainted with the area having played here several times, we know that the facilities on offer in the Gold Coast are second to none and this opportunity is a fantastic way for both teams to get ready for our respective seasons ahead."
The fixture comes prior to City's involvement in the 2015 International Champions Cup which takes place in Melbourne against Roma and Real Madrid on July 21 and 24 respectively.
