Bolton boss Gary Megson is not setting a points target for the Wanderers to ensure survival in the Premier League. "It makes me laugh when people start doing it," he said. "You can't apply mathematics to football. It doesn't work.
"I've heard other managers talking of the fact they haven't averaged a point a game, and what's to suggest they were about to change.
"But last season we averaged 2.2 points from our last five games. If we'd have done that right the way through the season, we'd have won the league.
"Nobody knows what it is going to be. You've got to just keep plugging away and not take your foot off the pedal."
