Bolton boss Gary Megson wants the Wanderers to start winning now and secure their top-flight status for another season. Bolton have 38 points from their 34 leagues games so far this season.
However, they have only won one of their last seven league outings.
"We are getting there, but we would prefer to be getting there in a different mode," said Megson. "We'd like to be winning games and pushing on up the table.
"The point last week against Aston Villa was a good point given the circumstances of the two clubs.
"Obviously with our result of getting a point at the weekend and the result of Newcastle and Portsmouth, each week that goes by if we can get a decent result then that's one less that we can be caught.
"What we do know is that if we go to Wigan and get a really good result and win there then we've got a fantastic chance of getting where we want to be."
