Megson backtracks over Bolton unrest

Bolton boss Gary Megson admits he was wrong to go public on stating there was dressing-room unrest at the club. He claimed after the derby defeat by Blackburn last weekend that certain players were trying to destabilise the club.

He said: "I made a mistake in highlighting the situation because while it is still there and still apparent, it is not a huge problem.

"Maybe I should not be as honest with you as I have been. You say these things then other people pick up on it and make a bigger deal out of what I was trying to say.

"I can understand people being unhappy if they are not in the team. When you have squad of 20-odd players and can only play 11, you are going to have the hump a little bit.

"If you take Chelsea, they may be top of the division but one or two will have a face on as they are not playing."
