Former Manchester City midfielder Steve McManaman says Tottenham striker Harry Kane should be wary about leaving the club.
The future of Kane this summer is in doubt.
McManaman told horseracing.net: "If he wants to win trophies, of course the team that wins the most trophies right now is Manchester City, so it would be an easy decision. But people are fooled by all this: 'He needs to win trophies to become a great player'. He does not have to, he is a fantastic player no matter what. He will be one of the best.
"Look at Alan Shearer. People talk about the lack of trophies he did not win but no one can tell me that Alan Shearer is not an absolute superstar. Harry Kane will be the same if he stays at Tottenham. Likewise, if he wants to move and he feels he needs to win trophies, then it is his decision and one that he will live and die with. He is an incredible central striker and if you as a club are going to buy one, you go and buy Harry Kane without blinking."
