McManaman impressed by Liverpool whizkids Woodburn, Randall

Liverpool hero Steve McManaman is convinced by the potential of Jurgen Klopp's team.

McManaman was one of four former Reds stars to turn out for Jurgen Klopp's side as they beat the Australian champions 3-0 in a comfortable post-season friendly at the ANZ Stadium.

The ex-winger played with the likes of Connor Randall, Rhian Brewster, Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and he thinks they are all equipped to handle expectations in the first team.

Speaking to LFCTV after the game, McManaman said: "To be honest, I've known them all from the Academy, and I've been very impressed with all of them.

"It's been great to see Rhian Brewster have a go today, apart from training in the first team, getting on and playing for them, because he's very talented.

"We see the likes of Connor Randall, Kev Stewart, Ben and Trent on numerous occasions.

"The more they train with the first team, the more they play with the first team, the better they'll become, and it's great for the future."
