Birmingham City are fuming over Alex McLeish's dramatic resignation.
The timing of his resignation - by email - yesterday was simply staggering.
It came as acting chairman Peter Pannu was just about to board a plane in the Netherlands - having just sealed a deal for the fourth name on McLeish's four-man summer wishlist.
Pannu turned on his phone, ready to call Big Eck to tell him the good news. Instead, he had an emailed resignation.
An understandably shocked Pannu said: "I've just bought him three players of his choice in Chris Burke, Marlon King and Morgaro Gomis.
"Whilst in Amsterdam, having secured him the fourth, an email came through on Sunday whilst I am on business.
"That speaks volumes."
