Martyn Pert is set to leave Manchester United for Ipswich Town.
The Manchester Evening News says new Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna is set to take Pert, another Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appointment, with him.
McKenna has always held ambitions of holding a top job and when League OneIpswich Town approached him, he told United manager Ralf Rangnick he wanted to talk to the Suffolk club.
United recognised McKenna's desire to take the job and the fact that it was an excellent opportunity for him.
Ipswich built an impressive squad in the summer but have failed to fire under Paul Cook. They sit 12th in League One but even in a very competitive league they should be capable of edging closer to the play-offs.
