Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren says he still has 'every confidence' Karl Darlow, despite the goalkeeper's howler which cost the Magpies against West Bromwich Albion.
Darlow had a Premier League debut to forget, with his error leading to what proved to be the match-winning goal for the Baggies.
However, Darlow could be offered a reprieve against Arsenal on Saturday, with regular number one Rob Elliot suffering from a stomach virus.
"Karl Darlow is a very good keeper and I have every confidence in him,"McClaren said.
"The goal at West Brom was just one of those things that happen.
"Rob Elliot is not feeling too good but we are hoping he gets over his stomach bug in the next couple of days and is fit for Saturday."
