Nottingham Forest's new manager Steve McClaren will be give sufficient funds as he attempts to end the club's 13-year exile from the Barclays Premier League. According to the club's chief executive Mark Arthur, money has always been available for a promotion push despite reports to the contrary.
"Money has been available in the past. (Chairman) Nigel Doughty has put £25million into the club in the last two seasons, so I think it's a bit of a fallacy to suggest that no money has been made available.
"Steve will have similar funds available to him if he can identify a player of the quality who will enhance the quality of the current squad.
"We have a very good squad, but he will be looking to improve it in certain positions. I think we all know that the first position we must try and sort out is left-back."
