McCarthy says Wolves keeper place up for grabs

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says his goalkeeping spot is up for grabs.

McCarthy has added 30-year-old Dutchman Dorus De Vries to compete with Wayne Hennessey and Carl Ikeme, following the departure of Marcus Hahnemann.

He told the Express & Star: "We've prided ourselves on having really good goalkeepers and that's still the case with Wayne and Carl and we've brought in another who looks like being a top class addition.

"They will all push each other as goalkeepers always do. Wayne earned his slot last year and the three of them will battle it out again this season.

"We're very pleased with the quality we've got and I'm sure they'll be competing for that slot."
