Mick McCarthy expects Wolves fans to turn on him if they go down this season.
Wolves earned an impressive point at Aston Villa yesterday.
"I am an ordinary bloke doing a very special job," said Yorkshireman McCarthy. "I am a bloke from humble beginnings.
"I've just been fortunate. I was a footballer, somebody gave me a chance as a manager and I got my badges and it's gone on.
"I am not saying any of us are born into royalty or 'nowt like that. Most of us are the same but we have got really special jobs.
"We all know that. It is a special job.
"All the Wolves fans think that. I do but I tell you what, if we go down they'll think I have done an ordinary job."
