Motherwell's Europa League chances took a massive blow last night as they were beaten 2-0 at Fir Park by Spanish club Levante.
Goals in the 42nd and 62nd minutes from Juanlu and Nabil El Zhar preceded a red card for Shaun Hutchinson in the 77th minute as Stuart McCall's men were outplayed in the home leg of their final round play-off.
McCall offered no excuses for the manner of the defeat and admitted it will be tough to come back in the return leg in Valencia next week.
"We have no complaints, they showed they were far better than us," the Well boss said.
"We only have a small chance now but it is a game of football.
"If, and it's a massive if, we get the first goal then we could make a real go of it.
"We know it's a massive ask. However the tie is still alive and we will give it a go.
"But there is a real sense of disappointment for me tonight. "The way we lost the first goal really dented us. It's a fair goal, even although the lad in the middle is offside. It just deflated everyone in the dressing room because we didn't react.
"As far as the sending off is concerned I've no complaints either, it was a red card."
