Gareth McAuley is determined to win back his place at West Bromwich Albion.
The defender has been forced to watch the vastly improved Craig Dawson and seamless integration of Joleon Lescott dominate the centre half positions.
But he isn't panicking. "I picked up an injury in pre-season and then missed the start of the season and lost my place in the team," McAuley told the Birmingham Mail.
"That's the first time that has happened to me in my career but I'm experienced enough to know how to deal with it.
"I've been working hard to try to get my place back and have been doing a lot of extra training.
"I have experienced highs and lows in my career and don't get carried away either way."
