McAllister joins queue for Motherwell post

Another hat has been thrown into the ring for the vacant managerial post at Motherwell, that of former Scotland skipper Gary McAllister. McAllister, who began his career at home town club Motherwell before moving to Leicester in 1985, is looking to get back into management after an 11-month spell at Leeds ended in December.

The former Coventry boss told the Sunday Mail: "Motherwell are my club and the job appeals to me.

"I spoke to the chairman before Mark got the job but we'll need to see what happens in the next few days."
