Mbappe praises PSG for landing Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum

PSG star Kylian Mbappe has welcomed the signing of Holland international midfielder Gini Wijnaldum.

It's been announced Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum will join PSG when his contract with the Reds expires at the end of this month.

At his France Euros presser on Monday, quoted by Le 10 Sport, Mbappe was asked about his new teammate.

"He's really a very good player, I'm very happy he's coming, it was a great opportunity that the club seized," said the France striker, who was speaking before last night's 1-0 victory over Germany.

"They worked very well..."

This season Holland international Wijnaldum managed 51 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals. He had been in lengthy negotiations with Barcelona before committing to PSG last week.

Mbappe's praise is significant as PSG push the striker to enter new contract talks. The striker's current deal is about to enter it's final 12 months.

Wijnaldum, meanwhile, is also at the Euros this month. He led Holland in their opening group game against Ukraine, which finished 3-2 in the Oranje favour.
