Max Meyer wage demands scare off Liverpool, Arsenal

Free agent Max Meyer has priced himself out of a move to England.

The Daily Express says Meyer's staggering wage demands saw a transfer to Arsenal and Liverpool collapse.

The German, who is a free agent after leaving Schalke, was reportedly after £4m a year.

Arsenal and Liverpool had both been monitoring his situation but baulked at the prices involved.

Liverpool have since signed Xherdan Shaqiri and are chasing a marquee name in attack while Arsenal could stick with their current forward options.
