Nemanja Matic hopes he can help his young Manchester United teammates improve.

The Red Devils recently triggered a one-year extension in Matic's contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2021.

And the Serbian says he is enjoying playing the role of mentor to the club's youngsters.

"I remember when I was 20, 21, 22, I always looked to older players to see how they train and how they behave," the 31-year-old told MUTV.

"I think it's important and I hope I can help the youngsters in our changing room. Obviously, we have a lot of young players."
