Nemanja Matic says he will happily take the Manchester United captaincy.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has less than two weeks to name the club's new captain, following the departure of Antonio Valencia.
Club legend Bryan Robson has backed 30-year-old Matic to succeed in the role, and the Serbia international says he'll take great pride in serving as United captain.
"It's always great to hear when someone like Mr. Robson says good things," he told Goal. "It means something to me.
"As for the future, maybe, who knows? The manager has to make the decision about the captain. Whatever he decides, we'll be happy, of course.
"The captaincy is important but, if we play good football and fight for each other, that is the most important."
