Mathias Pogba axed by ASM Belfort as president says: He was the wrong man for the job

The older brother of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been released by ASM Belfort.

The Sun says Mathias Pogba has been shown the door by ASM Belfort after reportedly refusing to play for their reserve side.

The former Wrexham, Crewe, Crawley Town and Partick Thistle striker only joined the National 2 outfit last August.

Belfort were the THIRTEENTH club of 31-year-old Pogba's nomadic career.

Belfort president Jean-Paul Simon said: "We made a bad choice in signing Mathias Pogba.

"You could say he was the wrong man for the job.

"Let's say that we have recently opted to separate by mutual consent.

"I take full responsibility. Plenty of bad decisions have been made this season, and I'm not very happy with what we have done.

"Now all that matters is avoiding relegation."

Pogba joined Belfort after leaving Slovenian club Tabor Sezana. He previously played for French sides Quimper and Tours as well as clubs in Italy, Holland and Spain.
