Matheus Nunes: I've wanted Wolves move for long time

Wolves' record signing Matheus Nunes has wanted to join the club for 'a long time'.

The 23-year-old arrives from Sporting CP on a five-year deal after Wolves agreed to break their club record with a £42m transfer.

Nunes will link up with a number of Portuguese teammates, and he admits Wolves had long been in his sights.

"Ruben, Moutinho, I spoke to all of them and asked them stuff, and they all said great stuff about the club – Sa as well, so I'm glad to be here," Nunes said.

"For sure. I've wanted to come here for a long time now. This is the best league in the world for sure and, like I said, it's the best step for me and I'm ready."

On talks with manager Bruno Lage, Nunes added: "I wanted to know what the mister expects from me, and it's good to know he has a lot of expectations on me, that he believes in me, and that gives me the will to work hard and prove that he's right as well.

"I just want to help the club achieve the goals and try to reach as high as we can in the table, make the most points we can, and win as many games as we can."
