Manchester United are watching Real Valladolid centre-back Mohammed Salisu.

El Diario De Valladolid says Salisu, represented by Juan Mata's father, is a January transfer target for United.

United, Norwich and Southampton have joined the battle to sign Salisu with fellow Premier League sides Everton and Newcastle United.

Salisu is yet to extend his contract at the Spanish club and the centre back, whose agent is Mata's father, is being tipped with a move to Old Trafford.

United midfielder Mata is also represented by the same agency.
