Manchester United gained almost an extra 500,000 followers on social media thanks to their Juan Mata signing.
United chief Ed Woodward revealed the Mata deal gave them a social media boost.
Speaking after United revealed its financial figures for the three months to December 31, Mr Woodward said United gained more than 200,000 Twitter followers and 250,000 Facebook likes in the five days after signing the Spaniard.
