Sylvain Marveaux could be handed a chance to revive his Newcastle United career following his return to pre-season training.

Marveaux was banished to the reserves by former manager Alan Pardew last season and the midfielder looked like he did not have a semblance of a future at St James' Park.

Marveaux then moved out to Guingamp on a season-long loan deal where he managed to impress. Now with Pardew having departed Newcastle, Marveaux has returned to pre-season training and the Frenchman is looking to resurrect himself in the North East.
