Already the figure is more than 50 per cent up on the same stage last year, and the club have responded by extending the deadline for current season-ticket holders to renew their seats to Sunday, July 10.
And Martinez believes a bumper backing from the stands will help his side push towards a top-half finish next term.
He told the Wigan Evening Post: "The way we finished the season was largely thanks to the atmosphere we managed to create at home, although our away support was also magnificent.
"But seeing the figures for the amount of season tickets sold already for next year is really exciting for everyone.
"The fans have recognised the need to pull together and give that typical Wigan Athletic backing to the team.
"It's great to see such an increase in sales, and I'm sure we can push them up further still over the next few weeks."
