With Everton keeper Tim Howard out of action injured for up to six weeks, boss Roberto Martinez has admitted he is in the hunt to sign a new custodian. However he refused to comment on speculation he is interested in Cardiff City's number one David Marshall.
But Martinez did say: "I have said all along that goalkeeper is an area we need to look into.
"Tim has picked up an injury that wasn't expected and it is a long time to be without a goalkeeper. Once you lose one of your keepers you need to keep an eye on it.
"I'm not interested in bringing in someone for the sake of it or the short term. We need to bring someone in for the long term, so that's why we will look into that."
