Manchester United legend Patrice Evra was impressed by the Red Devils' new star Anthony Martial.

19-year-old Martial has been extremely impressive since making his £36million move to United from AS Monaco over the summer and the striker put in another quality performance in helping France claim a 2-1 victory against Denmark on Sunday.

Following the fine display, Martial caught the eye of former Old Trafford star Evra who was particularly impressed by the youngster's ability to continually make powerful runs.

"It's the first time I've seen him in a match," Juventus left-back Evra said as quoted by Goal.

"He was impressive. I told him at the end of the game: 'I hope that you hydrate well and stretch well. Keep accelerating like that.'

"Every time he touched the ball, he drove and he created something."
