Marseille putting together Man Utd recruitment team - also with Forest links

Olympique Marseille are building a little Manchester United for their front office.

Former United scout David Friio has taken charge at OM as sporting director and he's used his connections to find a new scout.

Mathieu Louis-Jean, formerly a scout with United, will be joining OM as their chief talent spotter in France, reports L'Equipe via Le 10 Sport.

Friio was named sporting director at OM last month. Overseeing the shake-up is OM president Pablo Longoria, who took charge in February.

Friio was with Manchester United for nine years as a scout before departing in 2017. He joined St Etienne as chief scout ahead of taking up the same role at Marseille months later. The Frenchman worked his way up at Marseille to being confirmed sporting director this year.

A former Nottingham Forest player, Friio had two years at the City Ground on the scouting team before being tempted across to Manchester United.

Louis-Jean also enjoyed great success with Forest before following Friio to United. He is now reunited with Friio again at OM.
