Marseille management resigned to losing Saliba back to Arsenal

Olympique Marseille management are becoming resigned to losing William Saliba back to parent club Arsenal.

Saliba is on a straight loan at OM from the Gunners without a permanent option.

OM president Pablo Longoria would be happy to hold talks with Arsenal about a fee for Saliba.

But La Provence via Le 10 Sport reports Arsenal chiefs are at this stage counting on Saliba returning to London next summer.

Longoria will seek to open talks with Arsenal about Saliba, but faces an uphill battle to bring them to the table.

For his part, Saliba has made it no secret he'd be open to cutting ties with Arsenal after a frustrating time on the club's books.

The defender has never managed a first team appearance for the Gunners, though spent the first-half of last season in London - which included a full preseason.

So far with OM, Saliba has managed nine appearances.
